Lagarfljot Worm

The legend began as a folktale but ended for some witnesses, all to real. The story was that a woman was given a heath worm that was rumored to make gold grow so she put the worm in a golden ring but to her surprise instead of a growing ring, she got a growing worm. In frustration she through the worm into the lake. The worm continued to grow. But then a man released a video that appeared to show a giant worm swimming through the lake the worm became famous in Iceland and soon had been known as Iceland's Loch Ness monster.
